Q.1 How long after fitting can I vacuum my
carpet?
A.1 Immediately. Our fitters all have vacuum cleaners with them and as
part of the service will vacuum the carpet initially. After that we advise
the carpet should ideally be vacuumed 3 times a week for the first 3 months,
this will get out any loose fibres. After that regular vacuuming will
extend the look of the carpet.

Q.2 My new carpet is shedding lots of fluff
– Is this normal?
A.2 This is perfectly normal, all carpets will shed excess fibres during
early stages and frequent vacuuming is advised.

Q.3 What is pile reversal?
A.3 Pile reversal is a natural phenonenon and can occur in pile carpets.
The pile direction is not uniformed over the carpet and this will affect
the way the light falls on the carpet giving colour variation. This is
not a manufacturing fault.

Q.4 Why do I need underlay?
A.4 Underlay is used to increase the life of the carpet as it reduces
the force the carpet has against the floorboards or concrete flooring
below. A good underlay will also enhance the feel of the carpet making
it more luxurious and can increase the life of the carpet by up to 40%.

Q.5 What is a Natural Carpet?
A.5 A ‘natural carpet’ is a relatively new term in the carpet
industry and originally referred to carpets made from natural fibes eg.
jute, coir, paper, bamboo etc. It has become a little more general now
and people are normally referring to loop pile carpet in natural or nuetral
colours made from natural products including wool.

Q.6 How long will it take before the carpet
is fitted?
A.6 Each manufacturer has different lead times some will deliver the next
week but some can take up to three weeks. Fitting is normally booked in
the following week. If the carpet is required urgently explain to the
salesperson and we will do all we can to help.

Q.7 Can I book a fitting date when I place
my order.
A.7 We will contact you to book the fitting date once the carpet has arrived
in our warehouse and has been checked.

Q.8 Can I take samples home?
A.8 We always encourage our customers to take samples home with them as
lighting can affect colours quite drastically. The samples should be looked
at during different times of the day as the colour will change under artificial
and natural light.

Q.9 My carpet has stretched shortly after
fitting – what should I do?
A.9 This is perfectly normal and if you contact us we will send someone
to your home to re-strectch it.

Q.10 My loop-pile carpet is looking a bit
‘fluffy’ in places, what should I do?
A.10 This is a charactristic of the loop pile carpets and is caused by
the loose fibres not being able to escape. An upright vacuum cleaner can
reduce the problem, otherwise it is best to remove the loose fibres by
hand.
