About Milners We began our business selling from a mobile showroom in 1993. The success of this soon enabled us to open our first shop in Ashtead and since then we’ve grown from strength to strength. We have always concentrated on putting the customer first and many of our customers have used Milners since the early days and can always be confident in their products and service. We now own three shops – a very large showroom in Ashtead and a large showroom in Banstead, with the original shop in Ashtead now selling remnants. Milners is consistently changing and moving forward with the changing needs of the Customer and pride ourselves in offering good old fashion service with the products of today. How We Work Once you have a number of options we always encourage you to take the samples home so they can be viewed in the correct lighting. Only when you are completely satisfied with your final selection can we then proceed to the order. Milners are so confident with our ability in helping you select the right product, that we even offer a 30 day guarantee* which means that if you are unhappy for any reason we will supply a new product free of charge and you just need to pay for the uplift & fitting. With regards to fitters we only employ the very best fitters and all our fitted work comes with a lifetime fitting guarantee*. Dear Brian I am writing to thank you for the exceptional level of service I have received from all of the staff at Milners over the past few months. I discovered the store by chance whilst driving through Ashtead and upon calling in was very impressed by the range offered and by the expert advice and assistance I received from Tony in the matter of carpet for my stairs, landing and bedrooms. More recently I have had underfloor heating installed by yourselves and once again the service has been outstanding. All my dealings with you have been handled efficiently, expertly and with great consideration – from the gentlemen who came to measure and fit the carpet (whose names, I’m afraid I do not recall) through to Kevin the electrician who provided the necessary wiring for the heating. My particular thanks to Tony & Michelle – for whom nothing was ever too much trouble – and to Phil, Alex & Camelia who did such an expert job of installing the heating and who returned, cheerfully, the next day to sort out some snagging. Our new web site provides customers with useful information about which products will and will not be suitable for particular scenarios, while providing links to our wide range of suppliers so that customers can initially find out more about the options available. However, much as our new web site contains a lot of useful information and ideas, it can be no substitute for the expertise we have within Milners and so we would always encourage potential customers to contact us to discuss further how we may be able to help.
September 2005 – Milners continue to sponsor Leatherhead FC In the year 2000, Leatherhead Football Club hit rock bottom and was on the verge of bankruptcy. Having been a very successful club in the 1970’s and reaching Wembley for the 1978 FA trophy final, the shocked fans came to the rescue and like many other clubs, Leatherhead is now called a ‘fans run club’. All the stops were pulled out to keep the club going and this is when Milners first helped them out. The clubhouse was decorated by the fans themselves, giving up their own time and using their many skills to get things moving. Milners provided and fitted all the flooring, giving them a clubhouse which is not only hired out for functions, generating an income for the club, but also a much nicer environment for the fans & players themselves. Brian & Garry Milner, being brought up in the area, also wanted to see Leatherhead back at the top again and since that date have provided all the shirts and now sponsor the club on an annual basis. Recently, renewed enthusiasm swept over the club when the 1970’s star, Chris Kelly, the ‘Leatherhead Lip’, returned. The hard work is now paying off and last season Leatherhead were a whisker away from promotion and all the stops are being pulled out for this season to see them go into the next league where Milners will be proud to continue supporting them.] Our Fitting
Service Terms &
Conditions The object of Plyboarding or Screeding etc is to provide a suitable surface on which to lay the floorcovering, it is not intended to make the floor level. Any Cookers, Refrigerators, plumbed in Washing Machines etc. or similar equipment will be fitted around, unless disconnected and removed before fitters visit unless otherwise stated on the estimate. Unless quoted to the contrary in this estimate, all
areas must be cleared of furniture, effect and old floorcoverings. If
this is not done, it may not be possible to complete the work at the time
arranged and an extra charge will be incurred. The moving of furniture
does not include breakables, personal items, ornaments or electrical appliances This estimate does not include easing of doors unless otherwise detailed. This can be arranged for a nominal fee. N.B: We cannot always guarantee same day service. Whilst every effort is made to ensure satisfaction, exact colour/design matching cannot be guaranteed between different widths of carpet due to manufacturing tolerance over which we have no control. Neither can exact matching be guaranteed between the carpet supplied and the samples supplied in the showroom. Where this estimate is based on the Customers own measurements or information, which at the time of fitting are found to be inaccurate preventing the work from being completed, the customer shall bear the cost of the abortive and /so subsequently necessary visits. Shading/pile reversal is not a manufacturing fault but a natural phenomenon in plain carpets. Customers should be aware that this may occur when ordering any carpet. Further information is available from the manufacturers or Milners. It is the customers responsibilty to notify Milners of any location of any pipes and cables that might be damaged during the fitting. No responsibility can be accepted for damage to underfloor pipes or cables or the consequential damage to the property or fittings unless written notification has been given. Any questions regarding quantities of material, method of fitting, position of joins etc. must be raised before acceptance of estimate. All balances are due 10 days before fitting. Fitting will only commence once full payment has been taken. All outstanding invoices will be subject to 8% per month interest charges. Full payment is required 60 days from delivery to us even if works are not yet completed. After 60 days Milners will continue to store the product on your behalf until ready for completion, or we can arrange delivery to your premises. The ownership of goods referred to herein shall not pass to the purchaser until the purchaser has paid to the company the total purchase price (including VAT) in respect of all said goods. This estimate is valid for a period of 30 days. Complaint Handling – Buy with Confidence As a leading retailer, Milners has to offer a first rate service for complaint handling. With this in mind, we have appointed Qualitas Furnishing Standards, the furniture industry standards body to assist in the resolution of dispute. Qualitas offers conciliation between a consumer and a retailer, and will adjudicate on the merits of a dispute. Qualitas Furnishing Standards is an organisation formed in 1992 to improve the standards and service offered by furniture and floorcovering companies including retailers, manufacturers, and other associated companies. Member companies follow the Qualtias Code of Practice which guarantees that the consumer will get a better standard of service and redress in the unlikely event of a problem. Accreditations
